There's definite sympathy from me. I've been in the position where my "night provides no morning" - that complete lack of hope that life will ever be different.

This song is a true emotional ride. I've always felt a weird connection to Aileen, and this song somehow tightens that feeling. My reckless 20s could be summed up by the phrase "...if you can't be a good example, be a horrible warning!" I always felt if I kept going the way I was I'd end up like Aileen. We have so many similarities ... homeless, using our bodies to survive, feeling utterly alone and useless. Life was so dark and I was lucky to escape and climb my way out of hell. I feel if Aileen was giving the same chances I was given, she could have healed. She could have had the chance to grow. Sadly, the darkness and ugliness of this world swallowed her whole
