Mermay Day 23 🧜♀️ / Clover 🍀 - Process

Sorry for the delay in posting yesterday! For today's Mermay, I went with one of the ideas suggested by Madison (thank you!) 🥰! Thanks for all the suggestions as well, it really helps me get my creative juices back 😊! I decided to paint a mini mermaid among clovers and leaves! It's my first time painting a small mermaid and I had so much fun with it!
I changed the sketches a few times since I was having trouble with the perspective even later on in the painting. That's why you can see me add a rock later to level things out and set her grounded. I lighten up the areas with the colour dodge and overlay layer! I use the lasso tool a lot to carve out the shapes but use a bit of the smudge tool to her hair to make it look smooth/fluffy. I like adding different textures in my painting to add variety and interest!
