October Preview

For this month's preview I have a couple of pieces of art from the next issue of Mythic Magazine.
The first is the cover art from Jorge MuΓ±oz. It's for the Mystery Crafter, and will probably get incorporated into the Big Example for it. I thought it'd be fun to do a haunted house style mystery for Halloween with an intrepid group of young people hot on the case! Jorge came up with the idea for this cover, and I really like what he did with it.
The other bit is the title for One-Page Mystery Crafter, which I thought turned out pretty good. All the One-Pagers have their own title graphic. I'm running out of distinct primary colors to give each one, but I suppose it's not a crime to use a shade of blue more than once :)

Since that cover photo is the basis of the Big Example for Mystery Crafter, what mystery are they trying to solve? Anyone who wants to toss a scenario into the thread please do so, and I'll choose one to be the starting point for the example. I won't even require you to defy your parents and sneak out at night to ride your bike across town to meet up with friends and then break into an abandoned house!

2024-10-24 17:57:30 +0000 UTCI love this cover. "Kid's on Bikes" as a genre (as apposed to the RPG of the same name I have never checked out), pings that Weird Americana vibe I like so much. From Goonies to Super 8, to the little I have watched of Stranger Things, this is right up my ally, so bravo on the cover, Mr. Munoz!
