I know you’re far past this point right now but I just became a Patron today and I want to clarify something you seemed to be confused about in this episode. Kashiung is not a part of ORB. You misread/misheard the line of dialogue about Kashiung in episode 1. They did not say that ZAFT attacked Kashiung which is their homeland, they specifically said that Kashiung “isn’t that far away, will the homeland be all right,” and that “although they’re close, we’re a neutral entity.” You must have misread the scene and assumed that Kashiung was part of ORB but it never was or ever has been. So when ZAFT attacked Kashiung, they were not attacking ORB, they were attacking a nation of the Earth Federation and they were worried because Kashiung, just happens to be near ORB. Don’t have much to say about the other arguments cause I kind of agree that some of the stuff with ORB being neutral is confusing and doesn’t make complete sense given what we’ve seen at the time of this specific episode and that since ZAFT attacked Heliopolis your point still stands.
