In the topic of "complex" and "complicated", perhaps it would have been better to use the word complex, although in reality both expressions are true. The lore of the Nasuverse is "complex" because of the multiple parts that need to be known to understand the functioning of a concept, for example, "Command Spells work because of THIS and THAT and THAT works because THIS comes from THAT THING and THAT THING comes from HERE and HERE is... etc". And "complicated" because it is difficult to understand (at the beginning) certain concepts presented, for example, the Root/Akasha was a concept explained a minimum of four times by the comments, however, you still seem somewhat confused by the contradictions when talking about this concept (and that's okay, it's understandable). The Root IS the nothingness AND at the same time IS everything, it's like saying "A perfect sphere with three sides", it's contradictory, that's why the Root is a metaphysical paradox. Just like you said Theta in JJK's reaction, "How can you imagine nothingness?" (of course now adding that it's NOTHING and EVERYTHING at the same time). Anyway, thanks for this reaction. Next up will be the end of the first cour and things are only getting more intense. P.S. Your questions about Irisviel were already answered in a past comment (in the reaction with Griffin), this is the comment: [Irisviel (Kiritsugu's wife) is an important part of the ritual known as "Holy Grail War", as it was already revealed in the previous episode she is a Homunculus of the Einzbern (one of the three great families), when it arrives the time to end the War, she will die and her body will be the foundation for the materialization of the Grail, that is why in episode 1 she comments that Kiritsugu is going to kill her, expecting him to win, leading to her death.]

2024-08-24 08:04:08 +0000 UTCFate to me it is the lore and settings which attracts me the most, so that all the plot and character can be well presented. It has such level of details because they are needed to explain even some simple question, like what would happen if a servant is killed etc etc to the motivation and consideration from those characters about why they did and didn't. For example why Tokiomi ordered Kirei to deploy all of the Assassins without leaving even one of them behind, most probably because he represented the boring/smart higher up character who always plan extra safe and certain, he wants to get rid of Kirei and Assassin completely from this war once they are needless, and also this is only doable because Kirei is not really chasing for the grail and obedient at the same time. Even if few of the Assassins are left behind, they are weak at that point they will still lose eventually, only in a few possible world that they would win(personally I doubted such miracle event would ever existed at all), and those outcome usually don't worth mentioning, I mean no real impact on the composition of grand timeline because they are so little and extreme. Here you may have to import some concept of parallel world thing about how different outcomes from other world will impact on the final decision of which one will be the main, proper world. I guess even the common sense level of parallel world theory will do. As for the command spell's topic, beside the actual lore, imagine if we as the writer we can easily avoid loophole like what happen if we ordered servant to do opposite things for lifetime which can be, it is temporary effect and will goes off once the crest's mana depleted, because it is just a magecraft included when the great three family designing this ritual. For actual facts, you need to go into many other deeper stuff, like the invention of command spells, Fate's version of body consious soul thing, so that you can fully get the true nature of this Grail summoning ritual carried out by mages. I think Fate/Zero wrap up things pretty well, with a little outside help in lore, it presented its own theme well but how deep the audience can get is very subjective. Things getting clearer but then deeper the more bits you know, although they usually seems unrelated to the plot at all, thats why hardcore fans like me can go beserk easily, when that happens here comes the word "don't worry about it".
