I don't recall what Yzak slander you are referring to. I feel like I've been upping Yzak most of the time, at least trying to forget that he's responsible for killing Ellie.

2024-08-27 11:48:45 +0000 UTCAlmost feels pointless to comment since you're further ahead, but I couldn't tolerate the Yzak slander. When Nicol dies, he (and Dearka) are visible angry and distraught over his death. For all their quibbling, team Athrun shared a bond that meant something to them all. My read of Yzak is he's the type of character who's rash, easily angered, argumentative, and scheming, but also has a good head on his shoulders sometimes, and also has a good heart (he just prefers to be subtle about it). Tsundere vibes basically. I'll also note a slight shift in his characterization after Athrun "kills" Kira. He's cordial with Athrun, promises to rise up the ranks and have Athrun serve under him, and finds no pleasure in the attack against Panama because it's so one sided (contrasted by other ZAFT soldiers reveling in the opportunity for revenge after JOSH-A, killing those who surrendered)
