Up until just before Alaska, SEED was following the 0079 series and then tries to do it's own thing because Gundam was nearing its 25th anniversary at the time and it was originally designed as a retelling of that story as a lead up of that celebration. Following SEED's successful run, a sequel was greenlit to coincide with the actual anniversary and so Destiny was made with a different way of celebrating it. Loving the theory crafting and I can't wait for Destiny's reactions after the movies are done.

2024-09-21 09:56:22 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if you ever came across the behind the scenes reasons for SEED's production but it was intended for a more "mature" audience as a way to push Gundam into a new age of anime, hence the fanservice, violence, and extra blood compared to other Gundam shows before it. A kind of "this isn't your dad's gundam" kind of attitude.

If you remember the whole Rau Le Crueset mentioning Azreal thing, I think it's implied that the Earth Alliance upper echelon knew that ZAFT would attack Alaska instead of Panama through Azreal, who received that intel from Rau (due to his agenda)

2024-09-18 07:16:30 +0000 UTCPerhaps this unfair hindsight on my part, but I feel like who's Kira sibling isn't meant to be much of mystery. The how and whether or not Cagali is secretly a coordinator are ones, but I feel like the context clues of Kira's parents and Cagali's parent sitting in a room talking about how "they met" is pretty straightforward. To be fair though, I enjoyed you and Justin pondering about it throughout your watch together.
