[SILVER] Gundam SEED Destiny (Episode 26) "The Promise"

Noes for this episode: -It's interesting to note how narrow minded Shinn can get when it comes to someone he cares about. Stella is responsible for Heine's death and numerous other Zaft soldiers but none of those thoughts have crossed his mind since learning she was the pilot of the Gaia. All he cares about is her well-being and while it would normally be a good thing to be forgiving, the idea of forgiving her for what she's done hasn't crossed his mind. -the Extendeds' sole purpose is to exist is to fight and this facility exists solely for making the children there the best weapons possible. While the Extended in Destiny don't seem to be as strong as the Druggies from Season 1, they appear far more stable in terms of personality and their ability to cooperate and work together, except for the trigger word issue. -the Zaft doctors don't know how much tranquilizer to safely give Stella consistently because of how different her body chemistry is as a result of the procedures conducted on her and the drugs in her system, so hooking her up to an IV drip with drugs to keep her docile could kill her. -I think this episode puts to rest Theta's "Kira might be sexist" assertion as he doesn't want Lacus to leave and believes it's to dangerous for her, but he listens to her and helps her and even when he wants to go with her to protect her, she talks him out of going to make sure he's there to protect Cagalli and the Archangel. If Kira was sexist he wouldn't care what Lacus said and would've done what he wanted or thought was best. -Kira in Season 1 talks a couple of times after getting the Freedom how there sometimes are times where it's necessary to fight, what he is against is war and the spiral of hatred that can result from killing others. Kira felt it was necessary to fight the Atlantic Federation to defend Orb in Season 1 and never supported Orb surrendering and giving up its principles for the sake of avoiding war. -regarding Durandal being well-intentioned even if he is manipulating the world towards a "good end". Even if Durandal intends to manipulate the world to what he believes is necessary to prevent war in the future, that doesn't mean that his end goal is actually what is best for the world or even good for it. -given Theta's support for Durandal due to believing its okay for him to manipulate the world if it leads to a better world, I'm surprised he hasn't extended the same level of support for Emiya Kiritsugu and his methods since Kiritsugu intends to permanently end any and all bloodshed among mankind using the Holy Grail which would create a truly peaceful world. Is it because Kiritsugu's methods are distasteful or is there something more to it. -I don't think Stella is smart enough to pretend to know Shinn in order to plan an escape. Of the three Extended this season, she is the most simple minded and even has trouble speaking complete sentences. I believe the show is trying to communicate that Stella does remember Shinn despite having her memories erased before.
