Thanks for following my suggestion lol. You'll understand later why I said it. You already have some solid theories but that knowledge would just make it too obvious where the show is going. Regarding the witch's runes, the letters are made up and never explained. So you're not really supposed to what it says, yet the text has been deciphered by fans and it is also German. A lot of it is simply spelling out the name of the witch of the episode. This one was Charlotte, the last episode featured Gertrud. And then there's a little bit of bonus information, like at 13:17 it is explained that Charlotte loves cheese. It's kinda interesting but not essential by any means. You can read it all on the Puella Magi Wki, but please wait until after you finish the series.
