A theory I just thought about: So, ever since that episode, I have been wondering about why Aurelia reacted so strongly to the Montoya family name. I've heard some theories, such as Leo's mom being a werewolf, but what if she reacted that way because of an older family relationship... Aurelia's mother, perhaps? It would make sense, seeing as how she looked surprised and worried, but not traumatized, showing that she felt fear but it wasn't on a personal level. Interesting... Also I totally believe that Harvey will find out Leo is a werewolf first and stay silent about it until Hazel figures it out

2025-08-02 02:08:33 +0000 UTCMy main theory is that the werewolf who bit Leo is his father, and that he was involved in something that happened involving werewolves and witches sometime before the events of the story. Most of the evidence I could find for this stems from some things I noticed or considered more while reading WH a second time, so Iβll run through all of that real quick. 1. The wolf who attacked Leo seemed very intentional in doing it. It looked like it knew where Leo lived, considering it attacked him right outside of his house and not during his two-hour walk home. Furthermore, it didnβt chase Leo when he ran to his house after initially biting him, implying that it was in control and came after Leo with intent to turn him. It could have easily killed him, but it didnβt. 2. Assuming his dad was a werewolf when Leo was born, it would be biologically likely that Leo was born human. We know from the lore post that if a male werewolf and female human try to have a child, it will likely result in miscarriage if the child is a werewolf. However, human children are typically fine, which would explain why Leo was able to born and wasnβt a wolf. 3. There are multiple characters who seem to recognize aspects of Leo despite him keeping to himself and never interacting with them. Ren hates him for his mysterious reason. Renβs father seemed to recognize Leo by is hair when he walked out of his office. Aurelia seemed upset by the last name Montoya. One of these could be a coincidence, but the 3 together suggests that something had to have happened involving a family member of Leoβs who looks like him, werewolves, and witches, and Leoβs father seems like the most likely answer to me. Thereβs also some other small things that could be explained if this were true, such as Leoβs size as a werewolf. Heβs much larger than normal especially for his age, which could be explained by his genetics (maybe having half werewolf DNA makes you stronger if turned?? Idk). It would also give an origin to Carolinaβs scar. We know humans can only be turned the week leading up to the full moon, and that the wolf who bit Leo can turn at will. So, Leoβs dad could have bit Carolina outside of that period, which would explain the scar left behind. Who knows, maybe sheβs also a werewolf. That would explain why she has conveniently been working late on full moonsβ¦ TLDR, my money is on Leoβs dad being the one that turned him. Thereβs just too many weird instances that hint at it for me to write them off as just coincidence.
