So this video was a whole buncha fun to make. Normally when I see a request like this I feel like I normally make a pretty good assumption about how and why something is the way it is with concern to music history, at least to use as a jumping off point for research.

That was NOT the case for this video.

Never have my instincts been so wrong! This is one of those videos where I feel like I got the opportunity to basically prove my assumptions wrong and it makes me super, extra grateful to be able to do this for a living.

But seriously though, trying to iron out what music came from where in the silent film era is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. It's almost impossible!

I'm really excited to see what you're all going to think of this one.

I can't wait to flood the description with all of my sources.
