I am someone with very strong boundaries because in the past I had dangerously weak ones (granted I was quite young ~18y/o). My now boyfriend and I have been together for almost a year. When we started dating he had just gotten out of a ~6 year relationship and he and his ex were very immeshed and he was not practicing any intention of self actualization or really intentional relationship building with anybody in his life at that time. Was sort of just going through the motions. We have developed a deeply intentional, patient and loving bond even though I was much more head strong at the start (which came with its own obstacles for both of us). Through my example I have taught him a lot about how to establish and communicate boundaries. Through his example I have learned patience and to be calm. He has taught me how to pause. Itβs been beautiful, for us both.

And there lies a huge part of the problem . She shouldβve been the one to say βnoβ .
