Added 2022-04-22 15:18:47 +0000 UTCSpent a lot of yesterday and this morning chopping and saving micro-samples from things like Paul Whiteman, Sonoton records (mostly this one) and couple Newgrounds animations. And of course whenever I throw them all together in a project to see how well they work, it comes out a sloppy, noisy, Oizo-ish mess.
I find YTPMV very inspiring when it comes to looking for weird places for samples, and really short ones at that, so it comes out sounding more like a synthesizer than a sample. I think I'm safe sampling a kick/snare from Mladen Franko - Merry Chariot, and single bass slaps and claps from Yumi Murata - クリシュナ. By the way her Glenn Miller medley is wacky fun, just heard that now while looking for the sample's song title.
