2020-02-08 08:02:52 +0000 UTCAw, I always took Gaimanโs comment to mean that Crowley just preferred black, and his wings were probably black when he was an angel. This interpretation is heartbreaking. At least Crowley appears to have always considered himself worthy of fantastic hair.

2020-02-07 17:52:13 +0000 UTCYou know, in the book, it is noted that demon wings and angel wings are the same so it's actually pretty hard to tell them apart and when someone asked Neil about that and how TV!Crowley's wings were black he said something like "I think they are black because Crowley thinks they should be". Which, to me, makes this all the more poignant when I consider that, subconsciously, he is thinking, "I have fallen and am not worthy of celestial beauty, therefore my wings must be blackened and shredded." That said, he at least also thinks that the shredded appearance will go away over time, so it does.
