Honestly, there's so much underlying chemistry between Damon and Bonnie in that scene where he's dissing her powers. đđ

2024-08-10 01:31:41 +0000 UTCThe season finale is great! I canât wait to watch the reaction after this. One of my favorite scenes so farâŠthe scene where Isobel says goodbye to Ric. We get so much insight into her psyche before she was turned and how much she loved and still loves Ric. She was entirely obsessed with her research of the supernatural. It swallowed herâŠshe wanted to become her obsession. I think while she loved Ric, this obsession that had grown for decades, became all she wanted in life. Her existence became boring and I think she felt lostâŠwanted the excitement of being what she chased. We also see the end where Isobel, even though she has her humanity off, her and John care about Elenaâs wellbeing but they donât want her caught up in this life of vampires. I think we get an important portrait of Isobel and Johnâs motivations even though they may be sneaky. I absolutely hate the idea of Damon being in love with his brotherâs girlfriend. Itâs disgusting first of all and itâs such a weird dynamic with two brothers in love with the same woman. The idea of loving your siblingâs partner is strange. I feel like Iâd actually like Damon a little more if this wasnât the case. History repeating itselfâŠI also donât think Elena should be as accepting of Damon while knowing what he did to Caroline while taking her choice away. The show keeps bringing this up this thing with Caroline as to remind the audience of how gross Damon is and what he did while compelling her. Thatâs one of the reasons why Elena isnât my favorite female character and alsoâŠI think we are beginning to see this strange both sides dynamic with her when it comes to Stefan and Damon. While that just may be her being this compassionate character, itâs still slightly annoying. I blame Damon more though considering sheâs the teenage character and he isnât. Definitely not on board with where the show is trying to go with this. One of the reasons Iâm so against his character is simply for the fact that he never grows. He can do one action that you think will positively progress his character, but then heâll do a million things that brings him back to how we were first introduced to him. Itâs very stagnant. Heâs very impulsive and manipulativeâŠonly cares how things benefit him. If he doesnât get his way, itâs more impulsive actions. He is definitely a polarizing character. You either absolutely hate him for great reason or you like him. I love that Stefan confronted Damon about his feelings for Elena because rightfully so lol. Scarlett OâHara is character in a novel and film of the same name called Gone with the Wind. Itâs a story ingrained in the Antebellum South and the Reconstruction Era. I suppose because the town of Mystic Falls is set in Virginia and also goes back and forth from the past to modern day, the writers added this weird element to the show. Scarlett OâHara is a character that comes from a family who owns slaves and lives on/ runs a plantation in the novel/film. The idea of founding families etc also adds to the writers obsession with adding this layer to the show without actual accurate representation of the horrors of the periodâŠjust this rose-colored glasses depiction of southern history. Bonnieâs life has been flipped upside down. She lost her grandmother trying to protect vampires while seeing what vampires are capable of. Sheâs concerned about the welfare of the townâs people but she also loves Elena. Sheâs definitely stuck in the middle with good reason to be hesitant. Jeremy has a right to be upset at Elena. The fact that she had Damon come in and take his choice away gives Jeremy reason to not trust her. I get Elena wanting him to live a normal life free from the pain of what he experienced with Vicki but itâs tricky because he didnât get to make a decision in the life heâs living. Also, because he found out, his relationship with Elena is rocky for the time being.
