Sorry, just saw your post. It's designed that way, but don't worry. You'll have a chance to catch up the relationship points with either of them in the future. For example, in the Ep2 part 1, after you finish the scene with Sally. You'll have 2 relationship points with her no matter you went to the cafe or not.
