i understand li jianjian cause i went through the same thing with my best friend once i went abroad. to the point even though 10 years later we found ourselves in the same country, its so awkward i end up dreading our facetimes. its just so sad when you have a constant reminder about how the relationship changed and is no longer the same. i had also stopped reaching out during those 10 years and my disappearance hurt them so that complicated things more. time and distance is any relationship’s worst enemy.
