Progress Update #58

I really should've finished a bigger scene before giving that two weeks estimate in the previous update...

So, the animatic is halfway done. It started with super basic sketches, without a lot of motion, but I felt compelled to properly animate the later scenes. It takes extra time to do it, but the upside is that it gives me (and you guys) a clearer picture of the end result, and I will be able to re-utilize the camera animation and some of the same comps and particle effects in the final version.

In this first part, we got some of the previous generations of mlp in the beginning, the early history of Equestria, and then we are finally introduced to the villains and the mane 6 (and friends). Honestly, this first part is pretty tame compared to what's coming.

Nothing is set in stone yet. Like that scene where the villains appear and attack ponyville, it might actually change depending on how season 9 goes. And just to be clear, I'm not trying to recreate the events of season 9, I'm doing my own thing and taking a lot of artistic liberties with all of the characters. But I really want to see how things play out with Grogar in the finale.

So far I've made over 160 drawings for the animatic, and I'm sure that this number is going to grow a lot in the second part because it's going to have a lot of action! So, it's not going to be fully finished by the next update, but I will have some really cool scenes to share with you guys!
