Always found it telling with Snape when he first saw Harry again that he just defended the spells shot at him & even redirected them into the other followers of Voldemort instead of casting any himself because he never wanted to truly hurt those in Hogwarts.

But I think Molly Weasley killing Bellatrix should be looked at a different angle. Molly is the complete opposite of Bellatrix. She is wonderful woman full of love and motherly tendencies where as Bellatrix is an evil evil woman.
