There's just a moment in that ova that is shocking but it's best to watch some time during season 2 it will help with theories trust

The name of it is a bit of a mouthful, it's called "Shingeki VC-pf20130218". The manga had none of that, it was just added to make him look so much crazier. So it's not like a special power or anything that he gets when he goes crazy, it's just a visual representation.

Some might argue that the reveal of that "one Titan's ability" might puff out the surprise of that other titan's same ability in Season 2 Episode 1. I personally don't mind, but I can see why some argue the point. Just putting it out here for you to reconsider perhaps.
