The distance between Wall Maria and Rose is approximately 250 km, and that’s not factoring in terrain, and obviously the titans that have taken over since then. The female Titan arc was not intended to be a trip to the basement but a practice run to see if they could even cover any fraction of that distance with a modicum of success so as to keep Eren the scouts’. I think they should just be aware there are absolutely no fake outs when it comes to it. When the characters are just speculating about it, there isn’t going to be any attempt to reach there unless we see Erwin actually utter the words “We’re going to the basement.” Just to clear things up yall! I was also saying that because Ronnie said The Beast had climbed wall rose into Sina when that’s… not possible. You would need to climb wall Sina to get into Sina. Utgard castle couldn’t have been near wall Sina because it was spotted as the area became moonlit when the scouts had just confirmed they didn’t find any holes in wall ROSE. So just to be clear, the area between Rose and Sina is not within walking distance, and you could NOT see both walls from the top of the castle. Sorry for this long one.

We can assume from that scene that it may be retreating from the walls to wherever or prepare for something else entirely.
