Important Changes to Patreon
Added 2024-10-21 11:34:58 +0000 UTCHey everyone :)
First off, we want to start off by saying thank you so much for your support so far, it's much more than we ever expected or anticipated and we're very very appreciative.
Now as you know, we’ve been offering our full-length reactions with the anime screen visible the whole time. However, we’ve realised that this format may not comply with copyright guidelines. While many American reactors can show the screen, creators in Australia face stricter rules, and we want to make sure that our content remains within those guidelines and doesn't get taken down.
We appreciate the suggestions about other creators who have found ways to avoid copyright, but those methods often don’t apply here. Our goal is to provide transformative and review-type content, not just display the anime.
With that in mind, we’re considering transitioning to watch-along reactions soon. In this format, we would include subtitles for you to follow along, and a timer to help you track your place. However, most of the screen would not be shown, and you’d need to sync your own copy of the anime. (This is not set in stone so don’t worry for now :))
We understand this might be challenging for mobile users and could feel a bit tedious, but it’s looking like a necessary step to protect our channel.
We’d love to hear your honest feedback and opinions on this and any other suggestions you may have. We truly appreciate your support and thank you for joining us on this journey! 😊

2024-10-22 02:56:35 +0000 UTCi love your reactions but i really don’t know how i feel about this i rlly hope that doesn’t happen

2024-10-22 00:16:37 +0000 UTCI love your content, and I get needing to protect your channel! Is it something where you could upload partial scenes or edits like YouTube? It would be pretty difficult for me to sync. Subtitles would certainly help.

2024-10-21 23:48:07 +0000 UTCWe tried, I’m sure they’re busy people 😅

2024-10-21 21:46:42 +0000 UTCI enjoy your stuff, hopefully there's another solution otherwise I'm probably going to unsubscribe but we'll see.

2024-10-21 20:56:10 +0000 UTCI suggested vimeo back on YouTube it's not as strict from what I understand and it works great for another reaction channel that I'm on

2024-10-21 20:09:46 +0000 UTCThey could look into Vimeo and Streamable

2024-10-21 18:05:48 +0000 UTCThis is really sad and unfortunate. I love and enjoy you guys' reactions. It really makes my day. Sadly, this would also be an unsub for me. Something similar happened with another reaction channel, and I had to unsubscribe because it was tedious and inconvenient to sync the anime screen, as they paused a lot - my excitement drastically dwindled. Overall, it was just an unpleasant experience. If you guys are worried about Dailymotion, I would suggest looking into platforms like Vimeo and Streamable, which lots of reaction channels tend to use. I heard some say it helps with Copyright.

2024-10-21 18:03:28 +0000 UTCThat’s very sad. Y’all are so entertaining to watch. Unfortunately I watch on my phone :(

2024-10-21 17:45:16 +0000 UTCUnderstandable, and at the same time: its an unsub from me if watch-along becomes the format, sorry.

2024-10-21 16:43:56 +0000 UTCTbh I'm out in that case. Which is unfortunate because I really enjoy your discussions and all.

2024-10-21 16:43:09 +0000 UTCThis is understandable and I am okay with this. I follow a few other reactors with a similar format. It can be inconvenient to sync up but it is what it is. For anyone who says they don't have access to the original media that isn't something you can help

2024-10-21 15:23:27 +0000 UTCIf you guys ever have a problem with copyright, I heard that TripleTake are also Australian reactors and they just put the reaction ovally, which allows us to still see the video. Apparently they had no problem with that.

2024-10-21 14:24:21 +0000 UTCHonestly, this is very inconvenient for me. I live in a country where Attack on Titan was removed and I have no access to any episode of any season on any streaming site. The only way I was able to obtain the series was through my father's computer who, before we leaved our country, had downloaded the series. But since it's on his computer and he works with it every day, I can't use it... I hope there will be another solution, like for example, instead of posting the videos on another site like dailymotion, post them on patreon. Other reactors apparently did this and it was fine for them. In any case, I hope this won't be the only solution because I really love your reactions...

2024-10-21 14:03:33 +0000 UTCHi! I watch another patreon channel. Badd Medicine. They only show the few secs of the screen, so the viewer can synchronize, then it's totally hidden (on patreon), the viewer has to have a suscription on crunchyroll to watch in the same time as the channel. And once they put it on youtube, it's like any channel do, with a part hidden, a part showing the anime. Sorry if my explanation is a bit confusing ! edit: it's a watchalong they do.

2024-10-21 14:01:59 +0000 UTCFrom what I understand Carlie & Ange do something similar
Lauren Crawford
2024-10-21 13:53:03 +0000 UTCCarlie & Ange are aussie reactors you may be able to reach out to
Lauren Crawford
2024-10-21 13:52:05 +0000 UTCThis isn't set in stone yet and def wont be before that dw :)

2024-10-21 12:53:35 +0000 UTCWatch along would be a lil too inconvenient, rah don’t have another device to play it on and would kinda feel like we’re listening to a podcast 😫
Heartz04
2024-10-21 12:50:13 +0000 UTCThere are other australian reactors that just make the screen an oval which helps, the channel is called Tripletake, you could check it out to see if it helps. Alternatively if its dailymotion guidelines you are worried about, potentially trying to upload patreon videos directly to patreon could help, other patreon channels seem to be doing that instead of a link to another site.

2024-10-21 12:38:13 +0000 UTCThe opaquness doesn't bother me if that's something yall are able to keep if anything the watch along might be slightly inconvenient but it's not the biggest deal. I think there's a few aussie reactors I've seen but I'd have to find them that might have some insite
Lauren Crawford
2024-10-21 12:26:41 +0000 UTCBeing completely honest, the watch along format for me is kinda annoying since it does require me to either A.) Have a 2nd device to watch on or B.) Split screen on the same device. And syncing is also kinda annoying since it's always never gonna be perfect unless you try really hard so you'll always be a few seconds off. Would it be possible for you guys to remove the audio and/or video on screen for certain portions of the video where ya'll aren't talking as much. That way, "boring" moments are cut out and hopefully it doesn't breach copyright laws. Basically a similar style to how it's published on YT except not as blurred/muted. But if that's still not possible I won't be that much bothered. It'll just be a slight inconvenience.
Jay
2024-10-21 12:24:45 +0000 UTCGuys if there is a way to keep things as they currently are that would be super helpful 😢 But if not, then I think keeping the subtitles all the time could work, especially if you also throw in a scene here and there to be viewed fully (mostly with the important scenes). If that's your only option then it's a bummer but we understand. Also, if you must, can you do this transition at like episode 2x7 and not before? This is just a small wish of mine 😂
