ive given up on rowan as an intellectual viewer, he doesnt come up with anything to actually further the discussion at all. Im not surprised that the least intelligent person believes this has been a weaker part of the story

i would say most of aots episodes ratings on imdb are very fair overall. the best episodes for me and people i know are also the highest rated episodes whereas the lowest rated episodes for me also tend to be rated lower. it seems pretty consistent in my eyes

A beautiful episode.

The architecture in the walls comprises of a mix of mostly German and French architecture, where the villages and more further out districts like Shiganshina and Trost show German architecture, and as you approach the center you see more French, like in Stohess and the capital Mitras. This also aligns with the idea that the walls are based off a fictional Europe, as most the characters ethnicity's would be European based off their names. Like "Yeager" "Arlet" "Leonhardt" "Braun" etc, all very German, and then some characters like Erwin "Smith" perhaps British, and "Jean Kirstein" likely French. It's also interesting to see how the lower class outer districts are represented in German architecture and the richer inner districts are French.

This episode was incredibly moving, and definitely a top 10 of the series for me. I know some of you may not be massive fans of the yap, but it's these deeper meaningful narrative moments that give stories their substance and weight to them. Action heavy content is cool and all but means nothing in the grand scheme if there's no narrative to go with it. Like I think some of you mentioned earlier that this part of the season has felt kinda slow, but actually, manga readers like myself who read this arc in the manga would probably agree that it was actually quite rushed in the anime as there was a LOT and I mean an insane amount of characterization and moments cut out. Like although the production side of things like animation etc were great in this part of the season, the story adaptation was butchered, probably the worse in the series imo. Additionally that being said, Vinland Saga is very popular on the poll so if you do come to watch that, just note that it is also very yap heavy as it focuses a lot on the "meaning of life" sort of. Also side note, don't always go off IMDB ratings as a metric for whether an episode is good or not. Many people rate episodes with their own tastes and preferences in mind, and so what one person may consider amazing, another may not. So by looking at the rating, you build a bias before even watching if for yourself and making your own opinion on it. Additionally, for popular shows like AOT, ratings tend to be more of a popularity contest more than anything else, so people don't rate honestly and just put the highest score to try and get their favorite show to the top. This tends to be the case a lot for AOT, many times I'll hear people talking about "it's the highest rated on imdb" etc, but in the grand scheme, most those figures are kinda meaningless. Rather, try to find ratings that also contain actual genuine reviews, where people have actually given a valid reasoning.

Seeing Levi smile again was so heartfelt as he finally lifted the burden and mystery of his family off his shoulders. He had likely been contemplating and thinking about his origins for a lot of his life, but now that everything is solved with Kenny etc, he can bring that chapter of his life to a close.

Voice acting is not a high pay profession generally speaking with some exceptions here in the US. Meaning competent and skilled individuals will seek other paths.

I agree with rowan the dialogue is way too heavy in these episodes and I think could be executed better. But it was still insane to see that scene with kenny again and make new realizations even on like, my 10th watch. Also the nonsensical dialogue dumping is about to end so get the boys hype!

Rawdota

32:44 me too man! Felt good hearing that :D

kebiro

The reason Historia wanted to hit Levi is because in the manga he forced her to become the queen, but the studio changed the scene

So..atleast a few days though still?😩

She had it for three years Rod mentions that she gained it when she turned 15 8 years ago from the year 850 when he explains it. She died in 845 the show mentioned that's what Griesha was doing when the wall fell and that was in 845 so she would have been 18

Lauren Crawford

Timeline wise, i think frieda had the power for atleast a few days because remember Historia’s flashback when she saw her sister but she she didn’t remember until she touched Eren bc Historia’s memory must’ve been wiped😩

Heartz04

i love it when Rowan sorry to us after his claps, thanks for taking our feedback, i really enjoy rewatching this show with u

Simply because Japanese take utmost pride in their professions and Voice Acting is no exception.

Awesome. I think you guys forgot to discuss Historia punching Levi😆

Fun fact about the city designs especially Shiganshina, the author, Isayama, modeled it largely after a small town in Bavaria, Germany called Nördlingen. If you visit there now it's become quite the aot tourist attraction. Another fun fact since yall mentioned the VAs Yuki Kaji, Eren's va vocalized both him and some of his titans screams. I'd link the live performance of it but the only one I can find atm is an edit that includes images from season four so I won't do that just yet. But I wholeheartedly believe that VA especially Japenese ones are a master at their craft. Idk if it's because it's the originally way the shows are filmed or what but imo they're top tier

Lauren Crawford

Biraj cooking as always!

Of course Rowan would say "too much yapping" to one of the most interesting and vital eps. Has he been checked for ADHD?
