The Annie and Kenny scene is pretty confusing but it becomes clearer with couple of rewatch. Annie is indeed spying in the inner wall, to get infos about the real King, that could eventually lead her to the founding titan. She was really close to it because she found Kenny in the process and was following him. But Its Kenny lol dude's senses are godly, He comes from behind (Pause) and catches Annie, so to cover up she explains that the only reason she is following him is that there is a rumor he is her real dad, implying that he knew her mom as a sëx worker... Kenny knew straight up she was bluffing because, Tuchel, his sister and Levi's mom, died being a sëx worker and he had promised to never go to a prostitute ever... and further on Annie saying that she reached her limits if he is around lol... its Kenny the Ripper guys, dude was slaughtering Military police left and right, and became so legendary and baddass that for a lot of people he was a Myth a Urban Legend... she is just aknowledging how powerful Kenny is

I would've thought they would realise when he spoke considering how recognizable Eren's voice is. Point worth noting, a major reason why Reiner was about to kill himself is that he didn't want to go back paradis, which was the plan they mentioned in the last episode. So he didn't want to have to face everything and go through his split mentality issues again, as that broke him when he was on paradis the first time. I really loved this episode, it gives a complete 180 on Reiner as you really start to feel for the guy and understand where he's coming from. Also, regarding the ackermans. I'm not sure if even Ronnie is aware of this because it was cut out from the anime. But basically, in the scene from last episode when Zeke and Colt are on the rooftop talking, there was something in the manga which was cut out in the anime, where Zeke sort of summarises why they are so strong and skilled etc. He says "the ackerman clan, byproducts of titan science", meaning that they are essentially genetically enhanced, which also makes the line that Kenny's grandfather said make sense, where he said that the ackermans were once the kings sword and shield. So them being genetically enhanced would be perfect for this role. And this also aligns with the fact that ackermans have these "awakenings" where they get a surge of strength like we've seen with Mikasa back in season 1

2024-11-26 13:38:01 +0000 UTCThis ep is by far the most condensed manga adaptation of the whole series, this was like 4 or so chapters, which leaves some things confusing, especially that Annie/Kenny scene and what the point of it was. I’m so happy they got you Ronnie there to correct/explain it, always pulling my hair when people leave the scene with ”oh Kenny was Annie’s dad I guess” takes 😅

2024-11-26 12:48:27 +0000 UTCI think for Reiner, the Paradis mission became important for him so that he can be a hero and prove himself since just becoming a warrior didn't really change anything. I think his motivation for everything he did stayed the same throughout. Also, if he went back they would have probably had him eaten. lol. After everything, his failures and also realizing that the devils in the wall were not devils at all, he just had a breaking point. He's also the only one there that experienced life in the walls in Marley so he's lonely and not sure if any decision now is the right decision. Poor guy. Thanks for the reaction!.. lolol
