2024-12-06 18:18:58 +0000 UTCIn my case I think that one property of empathy is feeling genuinely hurt even when you have to confront your enemies. I mean, in the case of bertolt he was a brainwashed kid, but this dont change the fact that he deserves what he gets at the end, if you feel empathy about him its not necessary to let him free or completely forgive him but despite having to end it, feeling hurt because at the end of the day you are hurting another person, and understand that it is better to end this path. I have empathy with bertolt? Yes. I feel proud of he getting eaten and killed? No, because this was the worst scenario, the good thing were if we could build relation instead of killing each other, and like i've said one point of empathy is not feeling good about this outcome and work for avoiding this to happen again. With eren i feel the same. This is how i feel about your reflection cuz i've i've thought about it too.

But I have always wondered about what it takes to enforce and practice these in our lives. How far is too far in order to show Empathy? Did Bertolt deserve it when he was ready to kill his comrades? What about Eren now, who is an apparent terrorist and mass-murderer? Can you be a slave to freedom? Is it dangerous to view the perspective of someone who is in fact pretty dangerous?
