ik this is old asf and yall probably dont care as much anymore, but i have so many thoughts abt this death and no one to voice it to. so the way i see it, kang deserved to win the most if we're going by morals. sang-woo put himself in that position of debt and knowingly fucked over his mom in the process. gi-hun had much more compassion (and a bit of a savior complex), but still lived a life filled w bad decisions due to his gambling addiction. ofc, in his case, it stemmed from the loss of his job and a pretty traumatic experience (unlike sang-woo who was set for life before fucking it up as far as we know). but kang was there due to the circumstances she was born into through no fault of her own, she was born in north korea where they are known to brainwash and torture their own citizens. she ended up defecting w her family (after im sure a life full of traumatic events in nk) which im positive was not a decision she made on her own, but rather one her parents made. her dad died, her mom was taken into custody, and her brother was put in a home. she then wholeheartedly committed her life to bringing her mom to sk and supporting her brother. all the wrong she did (thieving and pickpocketing), as well as her general cold attitude towards others, was for the sake of her family. compare this to the other two who created most of their own mistakes that brought them to financial ruin and made their own families' lives much harder kang lived for others and died in such a tragic way. mind you, she was actively dying already and posed very little threat to sang-woo in the first place and he knew that !! im not saying i dont fully understand his actions, or that i think either sang-woo or gi-hun are evil. however, if we're going simply off morality, kang deserved to be the winner. also she was so young compared to them and had so much left to live for. she could've been an upstanding citizen, or made a name for herself, or literally just anything else that she had never been given the chance to do before bc of her unfortunate circumstances also, on a side note, i fw sang-woo to a certain extent, and understood his actions for sure, but at the end of the day he was nothing but a coward. he couldnt face his mom after everything he did to ruin her life's work, attempted suicide in the bathtub scene instead of facing his consequences, he couldnt even look at ali after betraying his trust, and he killed a young girl who was actively dying in the first place. AND EVEN AFTER ALL THAT THE MF STILL CHOOSE THE EASY WAY OUT AND COMMITS IN THE END. he was a little bitch (and i say that while still thinking he's an amazing character and liking him a good amount as well. like i said i dont think he was evil, and he def felt guilt, but he was always a bad person from the start imo) that was long and idk if yall will ever read it, but i needed to say it somewhere
