Correct me if I’m wrong but the reason y Toji sold Megumi and left the clan obv it’s cuz megumi has the potential and he won’t be treated like trash like Toji did but it all stated going downhill when he lost his wife that’s what broke him and in that last moment he imagined his son and it was the voice of his wife

Yeah, this once of the episodes that made me realize that this show wasn’t only about the hype fight scenes, but awesome characters too

Like Eren, Geto is doing a mass genocide to save his people, the sorcerers. Like him, he decided who his ennemies were and took action. Also, just like Light his goal is to create a new world. But instead of getting rid of criminals he wants to get rid it’s curses which is evil as it’s core. Except for that he still kill innocent people. Parallels are interesting Also they both had the same realisation, that people are rotten, but Geto tasted it everyday so he knows it better than anyone.

Ahh loved your discussion and love this arc! Now that it’s over - idk if you ever looked up the OP/ED lyrics but they really tug on your emotions since the OP (blue spring of youth) is from gojo to geto, while the ED (akari) is geto to gojo as they talk about their regrets. There’s so much I could say about both, but highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t seen them already! Also since you guys brought up geto’s attire in the discussion, a fun fact: geto’s chosen monk outerwear (the checkered part wrapped outside the black robe) is actually called a gojo-gesa 😭 There was also an interview a couple months back that touched on gojo/geto’s bond with each other and it was said that while geto was gojo’s moral compass, gojo was like a reassuring protective talisman to geto (“we are the strongest”). Like even after he split from jujutsu society/gojo, he wears a gojogesa? It really adds so much to the fact that geto was left alone to cope by himself that summer, after not just failing riko/losing to Toji/having to witness the ugliness of the masses, but ALSO having heard that toji KILLED GOJO. He could’ve lost him fr just like that. And ofc gojo revived himself/came back stronger and so many things happened after that to the point where we kinda forget how traumatizing that moment was for geto. It’s where we first truly see geto lose his cool and seriously tell someone to die, when he finds out that Toji, a non-sorcerer “monkey” killed his best friend, his reassuring and strongest other half. So many other things follow this event that build up and lead to geto’s final decision like haibara and the two girls, but it’s not a coincidence that he fixated on the term “monkey” and ultimately took the most extreme route in killing them all to save the sorcerers, his allies and friends. You can even tie that overarching idea into s1/gojo’s students, “saving” people unequally. Love that you guys talked about jjk0/gojo’s loneliness in context too! This arc finally showed how geto/gojo were so close that even after the initial “break up,” gojo still believed and trusted in geto’s principles and why he never bothered to hunt geto down in the intervening years despite the death sentence on geto’s head. Geto truly was his one and only best friend and equal until gojo’s infinity literally made him untouchable, physically and metaphorically. But even then, gojo waited until geto forced his hand in coming back to declare war and even STILL gojo didn’t fight him himself lol. We don’t even know what his last words to geto were that made him smile. There’s just so many subtle layers to their dynamic and complexities to their individual characters, it’s great

Geto became my favorite character after this episode. Never has a descent into villainy been so beautifully portrayed. It makes so much sense and seeing how healthy and not depressed he was after he made the choice? Chef's kiss

One of the best episodes of the show so far, and great reaction
