Basically Canute wants to build a paradise on earth using the inevitable violence efficiently! It's also at a larger scale so the stakes and repercussions are higher in my opinion compared to what Thorfinn is trying to achieve of "not needing a sword to be a warrior" I love this season so much to the point where Vinland Saga is my second favorite anime of all time! It's mainly because of how humane season 2 is for me! Thorfinn along with at lot of the characters in Vinland are so relatable and complex that it's hard not to feel emotions when seeing them fight their own inner battles! π We are nearing more masterpiece episodes π₯ I CAN'T WAIT FOR MONDAY π

Even in Aot or Frieren there were some supernatural elements. As a viewer i feel like you appreciate or relate more with the in depth emotions of the characters.

(Floki found Thors eventually) In the village Thorfinn grew up kids were playing imagining battles. In the village Thorfinn intends to build they would teach kids what Thors teached him. They have no enemies, war creates slaves and brings desperation.
