If they watched it in chronological order of events which was jjk 0 >> s1 >> s2, then season 2 would NOT hit the same. You wouldn’t have cared about the characters as much (like seeing todo’s entrance in the movie) and missed out on some emotional impact 🤌🏻 (but also technically I guess this one isn’t THAT big of a deal, I just care 🥺)

2025-03-08 16:44:45 +0000 UTCObjectively it doesn't matter too much, I think it comes down to personal preference. In terms of chronological progress of events then ep 1 comes before the movie. It gives the movie a deserved prequel, it prepares the viewer to the events that are about to unfold. It gives who's watching a slight insight on some things and just overall time to sit with them which some people found lacking when they first watched the movie. In terms of emotional impact we can't argue that ep 1 feels different after the movie. When watched later, ep 1 feels like a flashback and flashbacks naturally generate an emotional response from the viewer, especially when tied to specific events of the story that the viewer already experienced. There are people who, at the time of the episode's release, wished they saw the contents of the episode before the movie and others who were happy with having it after, hence the split recommendations. Both points are valid in my opinion and there's no objectively correct order, it truly comes down to how people personally enjoy experiencing this segment of the story. (I hope I haven't said too much, someone please warn me if I did)
