You guys are literally one of the few reactors that notice so many small details about the characters in this episode. Kanae, Shinobu's older sister does indeed speak the same way current Shinobu speaks. And if you notice, the haori she wears now is the one her sister wore before she died! In that sense, we can definitely see that Shinobu has taken on her sister's persona - by speaking like her, dressing like her, and smiling the smile her sister said she loved seeing. It's sad when you think about it. And I've heard that it's a real thing that some people do when they've lost a loved one. They try to embody that person who is no longer there just to comfort themselves with the idea that they're still around and that they're still together. It's honestly really depressing. And ofc, I don't even need to say anything about Kanao, whose backstory is just awful. The fact that she can still grow up to be a confident, strong teenager without any major behavioural problems really speaks to how well the Kocho sisters raised her. I love their little family unit. Kanao is such a cutie shdbjhwb
