The show is a parody of superheroes and shonen manga. Saitima himself is more or less a parody of characters like Superman or Goku. The fact that it doesn't make sense is kinda the point. It's a really good show because it uses that absurdity not just for laughs but to examine the genre and other things that you guys are noting
