2025-05-07 11:02:21 +0000 UTCWithout spoiling too much, the music is amazing, the visuals are beautiful, the story telling is engaging, but the main problem is the movie tries to cram all of Season 1’s events from Nagi’s/Reo’s perspective into one movie, effectively feeling very rushed. I’d say it’s worth a watch, but it’s not entirely necessary for Season 2. The only thing the movie spoils is the kit for the Blue Lock XI team and parts of the starting lineup. Other than that, Season 2 is fire! The animation is something I’m sure you guys have heard about being very underwhelming in the first half of S2, but the visuals, music, character development & storytelling is actually peak and makes up for it.

2025-05-07 06:12:50 +0000 UTCFYI, this isn’t a spoiler, just something that the anime didn’t make clear, but Ego never says he has any plans to eliminate those who fail to make the starting XI or bench (most likely bc this wasn’t part of his vision). However, as you mentioned, this doesn’t mean the stakes aren’t there. They’re all egoists and are chasing the pride associated with competing, and if they lose, they’re ALL done for!!
