2025-09-17 19:40:44 +0000 UTCHey no one talks about this but I wanted you guys to know that during Gyomei's backstory the kid who betrayed them the one with the necklace that was blue and gold with black hair was actually the same person from Zenitsu's backstory! He was the one sitting on a rock or something eating peaches when he yelled at Zenitsu! Although I don't really know his deal I think that he is now or was training to be a demon slayer which is kind of insane to me what if he and Gyomei met again right! 😣

2025-05-11 18:39:52 +0000 UTCI don't think anyone's mentioned this yet but iirc, according to extra pages that were in the manga, Gotouge (the creator of Demon Slayer) actually clarifies what Sayo's words meant: Sayo was referring to the demon as "the monster who killed them all", not Gyomei. But because she was only 4 years old, the trauma of the incident left her unable to explain herself better to the people who arrived on the scene. Plus, since the demon's body vanished in the sunlight, her words were misconstrued as Gyomei being the one who killed the children, and he definitely didn't look good with all that blood on his face and fists. Gotouge also mentioned that Sayo, who is now a teenager and all grown up, regrets that her confused words ended up causing Gyomei, whom she was very fond of, to be thrown into jail and almost executed. She actually wishes to find him to apologise. It's kind of sad when you think about how Gyomei doesn't know the reason behind her supposedly selfish actions as a child. She wasn't accusing him out of what he calls "childish but cruel self-interest", but he continues to live on without realising that she DID appreciate what he did to protect her (which was what he secretly wanted), and that she's sorry she never got to explain that clearly to him.
