Ugh I love the blood bending episode. But I think it just highlights too how much Hama suffered. Like how you mentioned that Katara didn't want to because it went against her morals and what she believes it. Hama mentioned that she was locked up in that cage for decades. War turns people into monsters. She was the only southern water bender to escape. She literally had to do whatever it took to survive. And I absolutely understand that Katara thinks that blood bending is inhumane and wrong. I also see how Hama justifies it to herself. That everything Hama had been through for decades was inhumane and wrong. And that she had to do and will continue to do whatever she can. Even if it means sacrificing her humanity. I love when things like this really make a person think and that's not a clear right or wrong answer.

2025-08-25 05:56:51 +0000 UTCA personal theory -- I imagine bloodbending to be insanely painful. If you picture getting a basic muscle cramp: by definition it's the sudden and, crucially, *involuntary* contraction of a muscle. Even a small one in my foot or calf will stop me dead in my tracks it hurts so bad. So if someone bloodbent you, I imagine that pain multiplied tenfold or more, since it would be happening all over multiple areas of the body. Really just adds a whole other horrifying layer to it π±

2025-08-24 10:04:51 +0000 UTCPower without morals or integrity is the bad thing. Using immoral power over someone you condemn as evilβ¦well who are you to decide whats good and whatβs bad. The issue is wherever there is a power, someone will think of bad ways to use it for personal gain. And this is why we try to not give powers to single individuals and instead create checks and balances. Ask a child, the βbut you have learnt itβ section felt so wow to me. Because I was like, yeah once you know sth is there, you know itβs there itβs unavoidable. Who is to say at a desperate moment, when you are scared or vulnerable or fearing for your life that you wonβt use it you know? But now I think I understand more that that is exactly the test one stands. Do you submit to that or are your morals so engrained in your idea of self that you cannot go against them. So yeah, what a brilliant episodeβ¦
