'the Tsuki moment'. so take it all in - watch every word, every action, nothing is done for no reason.. season 4 has the craziest 'pay off's'.

2025-08-29 12:29:30 +0000 UTCFor Washijo, after failing cos he felt he was too short, he probably had decades of success with the tall pure power mindset, furthering his beliefs. However, you can see in S3 that Hinata has put a dent in that. You can clearly see that he is intrigued by Hinata. During S3, he said he wants to do everything to deny Hinata, but he still lost. You can see his face when Shiratorizawa lost, he was upset, but he had this grin on his face, cos Hinata just defeated him. Perhaps Hinata can do what he could not, and reach the top. For Washijo who lost all hope, deep down this ignited a small hope. But ofc, decades of success won't be just overridden by one loss, that's why he still stuck to only tall pure power people for the camp. This is also why he didn't send him home, cos deep down he is intrigued by Hinata (as said, if he really wanted to, he would have done so). When he says without Kags he doesn't see much in Hinata, its quite frankly true. Hinata without Kags is an above average attacker, very light blocker (besides some miracle moments), pretty bad receiver and a horrible server. Washijo knows this, and out of everyone, he is also the one who knows the treacherous path for Hinata the best. If anyone, its Washijo who knows what Hinata needs. Just a hint, what do you think Hinata would do most if he was actually let in the practice? (spoiler alert: spiking). Which is why both Washijo and Ukai realize the importance of staying out of usual practice and be a ballboy, so Hinata realizes that he needs to change his perspective. (hint: season 2 where his entire focus was evolving his quick with Kags while abandoning everything else) Washijo deep down wants Hinata to succeed (do it for all of us shorties), that's why he yells at him more than others, "because he counts on him the most" If you pay attention, haikyuu s4 (and s3) gives sooo many subtle clues about Washijo in later episodes too. TLDR: Washijo isnt gonna abandon his decade long very successful beliefs, but Hinata has rocked his world a bit, so Washijo is giving Hinata some tough love cos he knows best that's what Hinata needs. (and hes a bit of a tsundere lol)

Plus what has always been Hinatas main focus since season 1β¦? So if he shifts his perspectiveβ¦β¦it's right there lol. But can't wait for you to find out. I love the next 2 episodes.
