With mad dog, when he came back in the game and had his doubts if he actually belonged to the team, Oikawa forced the ball to him, cos he trusted him. You cant utilize mad dog to the max if youre scared. How he forced Kindaichi to hit higher than the practice match in S1. Also in S2E23, you can see Kindaichi asking Oikawa to make his slide set a bit easier during practice, but Oikawa forced him to do it again, cos he knew where his actual point of impact was.
