ooh I love this ..life" must be lived forward in order to unlock the mystery of opportunity and choices" yes that is definitely true....there is so much to unfold, and so many adventures and possibilities yet to be revealed, and death cancels all possibility from existing

yes I agree, we do need to think of the pain we would create, although I understand for Hans at his lowest he just wanted to end the pain, I'm glad I have my friends children to think of, I wouldn't want to cause them pain, and the friends that have been so supportive over the last two years

A persons life can be told and understood from end to beginning with their true purpose and paths all played out. But, it must be lived forward in order to unlock the mystery of opportunity and choices. Suicide masks the future with a known result when in reality it's impossible to know the result. To make that choice is to fool yourself that you can achieve the impossible and know what tomorrow will bring and harm all the lives that you have touched in a positive way with the stain of depression and sadness. For we all have an impact on the people's lives we encounter for better or worst. If you can look upon your life and see pain that people have done to you, it means that you have done right to other people because you know the pain of doing wrong. Therefore you have whether realized or not, positively touched someone's life, guided them to make a better choice, or simply be the smile that made the sun rise in their life. All of that is replaced with the sadness of suicide and that negative experience will be the last thing they remember you with. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Hmmmmm time to get back to writing comments, feels like ages since I have left one, and what a topic to leave thoughts on. So where do I start well firstly I am not going to go down the road of abortion versus anti abortion as that is a whole other discussion, and the focus i feel is on the choice of an individual to end their life as opposed to ending the life of an unborn child. So how do I feel about wanting to un alive one's self??? Well I guess it depends whether it's me that has these feelings or someone that i care about. I mean i have been both of these people at different stages of life, at a time when I felt had nothing left to live for and felt like I had no purpose, not just in my life but in the lives of people around me, even questioning the thoughts of if I died today who would actually come to my funeral? Who would miss me? Who would remeber me in the years to come, what legacy and mark am I leaving for future generations to look up to. And it came down to the thoughts of if nobody is going to miss me then why should i still walk this planet? Why am I still here if there is no joy or happiness, just the pain of being done with life and people. But I always had this one nagging thought that i couldn't get past and that was I didn't want to hurt the few people that did care, and it was always the thought of leaving my kids fatherless that stopped me from giving up, and I didn't want them to carry any pain from me taking my life and not being a part of theirs in years to come. Which is similar in a way to the effect that Hans taking his life had on you, his family, and even his best friend. I think that han's best friend is also dealing with the shock of it as well and also losing his best friend and his inspiration in life had a profound effect which I don't think hans could have ever predicted how much it would change his friends life, and the lives of everyone that loved him. But I think another difference is knowing that someone is suicidal makes a difference from when someone acts on the impulse, and again that in itself creates a dilemma for the person that wants to help and support someone that is struggling, and I think at some stage they become selfish in not wanting to give up as they don't want to go through the pain of grieving, but yet can't comprehend the pain that someone is going through, that is enough to push them to the point of taking their life. I guess that may have been a case with Christopher reeve, I mean how much of him staying alive for years after his accident was down to a selfish need to not let him go, even when his quality of life was almost non existent, if he were a horse that fell during a race he would have been put out of his misery there and then, but yet we consider human life as sacred and more valued than other living things. I think this is a topic that could spark so much conversation over how much a value do we put on a human life that means we want to fight to keep them alive? Anyway welcome back Suze, maybe i should have started with that sentence first.
