Project Updates Feb 2/First Poll Results

Time for some project updates! I'll be scaling these back to once a month from now on.

My uni classes started back up last month, so I haven't had as much time to work, but as long as I have support, I'll still be putting as much time as possible into these projects.

A Perfect Ten

After the initial release came out, I jumped right into the next version as soon as I could.

As I've said before, the next version is going to primarily add more optional content. The biggest story-type of content planned is the addition of 2 more cosplay cafe ladies, and then the first part of the convenience store job. Each job is planned to have four parts. Once you finish one part, you'll be making more money and each part will have new scenes. I was originally going to wait until the third version and add the first part of all of the jobs at the same time, but after play testing the first version, the money grind was way too intense. Even for the small amount of content in the game. That's why I added a bunch of money on the map and made sure you started with a decent amount. As better jobs get added, this bonus money will be removed. Anyway, to alleviate some of that grind, especially with so many more outfits being added, I'll be adding the first part of the convenience store job. Which will make it so that you can make more money each time you work. I'm also planning on adding one time bonuses in the story to give a bit of a boost and cut down on money grinding. I'm also going to be making adding all of the jobs more of a priority going forward.

Anyway, with all of that being said, the progress so far has been just working on the renders for all of the new outfits. Honestly, it's not too exciting and there's not much to really say about it. About a third of the renders are done so far. Once all of the renders are finished, I'll start putting them into the game. There's currently 17 new outfits planned to be in the next version. Most of these will be ones you buy. I'll be filling out the currently available shops in the mall so that there's more than just a few outfits available. The biggest one being Party Country. Most of the outfits are going to be added there. There's planned to be other characters like Angela who you can buy outfits for added later, so they wont be completely full though.

The Poll

And now for the results of the poll. The winners are Robot and Poison Oak! They'll be added in the next version.

The first two outfits, "Booty Shorts" and "Gunner Dress" will be added in a later version.

CH Resort

The final update for CH Resort is getting closer to being done.

First, I decided to do a super long song with each of the main serviceable characters as a sort of final boss. It's a single song, but it's more than 10 minutes long. There's a short section for each character in the order they appeared in the game, with a little bonus at the end. This is what I'm currently working on. The base is done, I'm just doing the beats.
I've got the base videos made all of the character songs now. I just need to make beats for 2 more and they'll all be done.
I've finished up another one of the parties, which is 3 songs total. There's just 3 more parties planned, which will vary in length depending on the amount of source material I have. I've been doing the parties with new songs, but I may start to reuse some songs to speed things up a bit and get the game out faster. The parties are the most time consuming, because of how long they are. I don't want to push the release out any farther than I have to. I've also started scripting the characters to the game now.

The total video count is now 25/36 complete. This count includes 3 songs for each party, and 1 more for the final song. I miscounted in the last update, and didn't count the parties as 3 songs, I've also made some cuts and changes.

One character I swore I made a second video for, but apparently never did. I went to make it and there just wasn't enough animations for two songs. Both songs would have just used all of the same animations, and I always try to do at least half of the animations in each video as different. I also decided to merge the last two parties. The just wasn't enough content for 3 songs with one of them, so I just merged them because they're pretty similar anyway.

As always, if you're curious about the specifics and want to be spoiled, there's a txt file attached with what's been done and which characters are being featured.

Lastly, I've been trying to figure out what's causing the random crashes. It doesn't seem to have any kind of consistency though. As far as I can tell, there's no specific character or video it does it on. The only common thing is that it always happens with skip on, but even then, only sometimes. No matter what, I'm not going to remove skip though, that would just make the game annoying to play. If anyone has been able to replicate the problem with a specific character or video or anything, please let me know so I can hopefully get the problem fixed.

Teach Me

My primary focus right now is getting the renders for APT done and finishing up CH Resort, but I did get some work done on Teach Me as well. I wanted to add some sound to the scenes going forward, so I worked a bit on learning how to do that. I've got a moaning voice made for Ms. Hartley, and will be redoing the scenes currently in the game and adding in moaning. Going forward, all of the animations will have moans during scenes.

I've also almost got all of the animations done for the Halloween party. This is by far the biggest part of the game and has the most branches and possibilities, so there's going to be a lot to do. If you read some of the older updates, you'll know that the model I used for one of the hookups was removed. I don't want to redistribute a model that's no longer available, so I've replaced the model for the next version.

One last note about Teach Me, and the MMC/VaM style of games. I'm working on figuring out a way to have the animations made in VaM and the normal renders made in DAZ. As far as I can tell, it's more than possible, it just requires a lot of porting models back and forth between DAZ and VaM. I can port basic models into VaM from DAZ fairly easily, but I'm still working on learning how to port assets (stuff like rooms and furniture) and learning to port from VaM to DAZ. This isn't something that will happen with Teach Me, but it's something I want to do with the next game in the series. I just want the games to have more overall polish. VaM just isn't made for setting up environments and normal activities like DAZ is.

VaM Content

Finally, I've got some new stuff coming for VaM soon. I've been working on learning to combine scenes so that scene packs will just have a "next" button for each new position. I'm hoping the next scene pack will have that, but it just depends on how much time I have. At the very least, there will be another scene pack released this month. I'm also working on some new looks that will be releasing soon.

Ya done

And that's all for now. Since I'm primarily just waiting for renders for APT, I'll be focusing on finishing up as many CH songs as possible until all the renders are done. Since I can do that while DAZ renders. I'm really hoping to get CH Resort done by the end of the month, but that entirely depends on how much free time I get.

Anyway, that's all for now.

Until next time.
