In case you missed it, Momo and Aira were using their ventriloquy skills from last episode to communicate underwater here. As for why the punch backfired on the enemy. You know how adrenline can let mothers rip cars off their kids but people don't tend to have that level of strength on a day to day basis? Mantis shrimps can punch really hard underwater but the water resistance lowers the impact of the punch on both its target and the shrimp itself. In air they could theoretically punch a lot harder, but they have the same mental block that stops us throwing cars around. So, the pervert enemy who doesn't have this mental block, attempting to punch with the mantis alien's full power, and Momo using her psychic powers to push away the water to leave a pocket of air. The arms couldn't withstand the force of the full punch without the water resistance to lessen it.
