I don’t know, I see what you’re saying, but with the number of them, the choice in cameras angles and composition, it feels like even if it is totally meant to be in service of the themes of the show, they’re doing a little bit of trying to have their cake and eat it to with this stuff. Fair point on the scummy employer situation.

The situation with Matis Alien is about scummy employers being predatory to people desperate for money, and it's not sexual but still Bad. These scenes are supposed to be uncomfortable because the irl equivalents are fucked up.
