I love Jess and Luke. You do see Jess gradually get better throughout the show. That said as much as I loved him and Rory, I do acknowledge it was a very unhealthy relationship. It always felt like a "right person, wrong time" deal with them. Jess definitely wasn't in a place for a relationship when they were dating. As for Jason, in retrospect, I love him as a character but I didn't like his relationship with Lorelei anymore than you.

Also you usually catch the guest stars in the opening credits after the theme song but I think your focus was on the happenings in the dorm suite so you missed the names. Nice that you were actually surprised to see who showed up.
