It's not the Russian monarchy, but there was a good BBC drama series (3 seasons) about Versailles and the court of Louis XIV (in France) a few years ago - including a significant (and based in truth) queer storyline involving the king's brother!

It’s got Aaron Johnson, drama, Russian society, saucy moments for Benjy and for Rizzo; Kiera knightly and some really unique and interesting production style / techniques I’d love to hear your thoughts on. Not sure if you take recommendations like this but thought it’s worth a try!
