Welcome to our annual French lesson.
Today's French vocabulary is 'belle' which means beautiful in English.
But wait! Surprise Italian lesson too. In Italian, beautiful is bellissimo(male)/bellissima(female). All deriving from from Latin 'bella'.
You may have heard of the meme phrase 'Omelette du fromage' from Dexter's Laboratory. It should actually be 'omelette au fromage'.
This was a mistake due to a translation of de = of, which is a reasonable mistake to make as that is what the English equivalent is taught as.
'Au', a preposition, literally translates as at/to. Coffee with milk would be cafe au lait.
