Bulma being this unlikable is really just the enlish version btw. Most of her scenes with goku and those interactions have different dialogue and funny jokes in the original.

I do gotta say though, Iβve been watching along the whole time but I would love if we could switch to the Japanese sub now π At least try it and test it with some episodes. The english has its charm which is why I stopped voicing my hope that weβd switch to japanese earlier on but at this point we really are missing out on one of Toriyamaβs vital writing, which is through characters, their interactions and the humor. Often, like in this episode with Blue, the english localization completely changes the dialogue and its really questionable at best and usually just bad. Whereas the Japanese is word for word the writing from Toriyamaβs manga. Itβs thoughtful, funny and is the actual story. In this episode you were shocked bulma said βwhere have you beenβ when in the original dialogue itβs not that at all. You leave that scene with a totally different story told to you and feeling about the character. Same with the last scene with blue going into the water. It starts making this feel a bit worse. The japanese is just superior because itβs the actually work from the artist unchanged. The translations in the subtitles uphold strong and great localization as well. And yeah the fidelity quality of the voiceover recordings arenβt as hi-fidelity but thatβs it charm. Its the original audio from the japanese run on FujiTV in the 80s.
