If I was a multi-millionaire ex-marine that fought in Vietnam, with very questionable scruples, and my buddy had saved my life more than once (and was probably coked up a lot of the time) would you not go to similar lengths to ruin the lives of the people you thought had ruined your buddy's life? Some question the motivation and behavior of Silver but I think its accurate and realistic

He only had to fight once and ultimately only scored a single point, after getting his but kicked for 3 straight minutes. If Barnes hadn't cheater he'd have easily won. Don't feel bad about not liking the film. I honestly don't know anyone that does. The only reason to watch this movie is to later watch Cobra Kai, which I can't wait for you to watch. I think you're really going to love it.

I do think it is still better the "The Next Karate Kid" (1994) I have not seen since it first came out, I might watch it again. To me the villain are a bit over the top, well a lot lol. I do hope you watch the Cobra Kai TV series. I did enjoy the remake "The Karate Kid" (2010) with Jackie Chan. Just not as good as the OG one

2025-12-19 02:36:55 +0000 UTCI was too. I didn’t hate it. I watched it a second time, and I liked it a little more than I rewatched it after I saw the first episode of season four of cobra Kai. Not giving away any spoilers. I did watch The Next Karate Kid and it was God awful. No need to watch the second time. If you haven’t seen it, don’t watch it.

2025-12-18 23:55:39 +0000 UTCI was disappointed in this movie the first time I saw it because of the expectations after the first 2. When I saw it again later, it is still clearly behind the first 2, but better than I gave it credit for the first time. It does have the great life lesson from Mr. Miyagi that it's OK to lose to an opponent but you must not lose to fear. I have used that in my life along with something I heard Hank Aaron say. He said you can't be at your best until you're not afraid of failure. Those 2 lessons go well together and are lessons to live by.
