The dvd movie commentary for this is one of my favorites. RDJ literally stays in character for the entire commentary.

There was nothing wrong with Downey's performance and/or cosmetic design in this movie. It was pure comedy gold. Racism is a choice. Not an accidental byproduct of another thing. The fact you feel like you're supposed to say you were uncomfortable just at watching RDJ in this shows how silly things have gotten today. I'm glad you watched this one, and enjoyed it so much. It was certainly from a time when the creators were all about making a comedy that made people laugh, more than making a social commentary for people to debate after the fact. lol
