Originally Cilvia was going to have all of her attack buttons function as "keys." Typing a sequence and hitting RB/R1 would confirm the attack. Since this takes longer than a basic attack, the result would always be very damaging or useful (like an invulnerable shield or wall of fire). I was never completely satisfied with this as it's very different from everyone else's playstyle where attacks come out instantly.
I decided to compromise and gave her a "data entry" mode. Originally holding LT/L2 would have Cilvia enter "hacking" mode where you could scan enemies and cracks in walls. It also let you perform special mobility moves. Instead, this mode will function as a way to input powerful moves all while letting her basic attacks come out normally. I hate "detective vision" anyways. :)
There's much more to Cilvia's unique playstyle on top of this. I hope to share more in the near future!
*PS: I may have to revisit this one as her fingers look really off right now. It's a remnant of how she would display random key inputs when typing, her upper torso separated from her lower, just like how Buster is separated to let him aim in different directions.
